Self Care Tip of The Day… Write Down Your Triggers.

Hello and Welcome back,

Today we are going to talk about another self care tip. This tip is especially helpful when you are in a season of your life and living with PTSD. We should practice writing our triggers to help with our self care. By writing this out it can really help us heal and have a chance to rewrite what it is that is triggering us even if in our sleep.

I will share something quick with you. I have CPTSD and was clinically diagnosed while in college. Having this means having unexpected triggers at any time including in my sleep. I learned from a really close friend of mine that we should write out our triggers and rewrite them to something positive in order to try and help us sleep better. It sounds crazy but it works. If you continue to struggle to sleep, I recommend rewriting it everyday until the triggers are no longer triggers. Please note that when these triggers happen in your sleep focus on writing only the ones triggering you at that moment.

This can also help when you are struggling with a panic attack. Writing out your triggers daily can reduce the everyday stress of having triggers and reduces the chances of you having a panic attack. Remember that its okay, not to be okay. Follow me for more weekly tips.
