Self-Care and The 5 By 5 Rule.

This week we are going to talk about how you can implement the 5 by 5 rule as a form of self-care. First let me explain what the 5 by 5 rule is in case you are not familiar with it. The 5 by 5 rule says if it does not matter in 5 years don’t spend more than 5 minutes being upset about it. Now you are probably thinking she is crazy there is no way this will help with self-care. Before you say she is crazy and she is wrong, here me out.

The 5 by 5 rule applies to self-care the way it states. If it does not matter in 5 years, do not give it 5 minutes. It will help you in your self-care because if it is not going to matter in 5 years then why would you spend 5 minutes on it? That extra 5 minutes would give you the freedom to do something small for yourself. Remember sometimes 5 minutes of self-care can make a huge difference in how we are feeling. Its the small things that we do for ourselves that helps our mental health.
